New York designer Telfar Clemens launched his eponymous line of minimalist, aesthetically androgynous men’s ready-to-wear in 2005, when Clemens was still a teenager. The self-invented, perennial rising star has been having “debut” presentations ever since; his Spring 16 collection is actually his 25th season. Specializing in streetwise rendition of utilitarian staples, Telfar’s “subliminal branding” and conceptual evolutions of normcore take the form of progressively reimagined one-pieces and separates in monochromatic pairings.
