Tiffany Godoy Goes Crate-Digging With Facetasm Designer Hiromichi Ochiai

  • Host: Tiffany Godoy

With tripod and selfie stick in hand, 20 year Tokyo veteran and fashion editor Tiffany Godoy goes where others can’t. Tiffany’s Tokyo TV (TTT) is a vlogumentary that dives into the creative processes of tastemakers in the city’s scene.

Facetasm—say that three times fast. The label started to make noise globally last year when it became the first Japanese LVMH Prize finalist, but designer Hiromichi Ochiai has been around since 2007, showing Facetasm’s men’s and womenswear together before that became a thing. Ochiai’s collections are an amalgamation of 90s movie culture, skateboarding, hip hop, and the Tokyo creative scene that surrounds him. He blends all that together in a single outfit for a pedal to the metal stylesplosion! In this episode, Ochiai and Tiffany visit one of the designer’s fave hangouts: City Country City in Shimokitazawa, a hidden-away vintage record shop, bar, and pasta cafe owned by an old friend from school who also happens to be responsible for Facetasm’s show soundtracks. They dig the crates, take turns holding the selfie stick, and dedicate a serious chunk of time to Ochiai’s procrastination—he’s supposed to be designing his Fall/Winter 2017 show, scheduled for just weeks away. Oops!
