ORIENS

Taking its name from the Latin word for rising, like the morning sun, ORIENS radiates a refreshed vision of womenswear. Founded in 2020 by Shanghai-born, Vancouver-raised designer Shirley Tang, the experimental New York–based label crafts a futuristic image of sensuality with its neoteric garments that embrace and accentuate the body. Cutouts, knots, and lace details suffuse its collections of mix-and-match monochrome ensembles that include biker shorts with butterfly twists, bodice tops with elastic drawstrings, and layered miniskirts with ruched mesh slips. Gracefully unconventional, ORIENS materializes a forward-looking fantasy for the contemporary figure.
