Grunge-inspired and edgy, PERVERZE creates womenswear that bears a clear nostalgia for ‘80s and ‘90s aesthetics. Founded in 2016 by a Tokyo-based collective of anonymous creatives, the label channels a beguiling, youthful inertia into streetwear collections and photographic projects. Its name—a combination of “perverse” and “squeeze”—is representative of the collective’s headstrong and nonconformist ethos. Raw edges, frayed fabric, and exposed seams characterize its collections of cropped sweaters, knit pants, and jersey dresses. PERVERZE focuses on an off-kilter chic—honing in on a stylishly disheveled look reminiscent of an after party for an art opening.
