The North Face 最初作为一间出售远足和登山设备的店面，于 1966 年在旧金山北滩成立。 品牌之后逐步扩展产品系列，为各类型的户外活动推出服饰与装备。 The North Face 通过向运动员征集反馈，进而不断改善产品性能，并采用应对不同气候与环境的功能性创新面料，演绎“Never Stop Exploring”（探索永不停止）的品牌核心理念。
