With My Little Eye

Mat + Kat Shoot the Best of FW21—But You’ll Have to Find It

I Spy, with my little eye, something that is…

I Spy emerged as a popular guessing game in the 20th century, likely following the cultural spy-mania during and after WW2. The game has endured, falling into the canon of all-time classics, the first to come to mind on a long road trip, or the wait for a table. In I Spy, the group-appointed Spy starts by declaring,” I Spy with my little eye…” and assigns the other player(s) to locate a hidden object. Then we play detective in a game that asks us to refocus our attention towards small detail, moving away from the big picture and honing in on what otherwise might get lost in the blur of the total. Something minor comes to the fore—and how exciting, to see for the first time what was always there, but overlooked.

Here, in homage to the eternal joys of I Spy—of seeking and finding—we’ve asked Mat + Kat to compile still life images with highlights from our FW21 offering—can you spot them?

A green Balenciaga filled with cash, a Simpson, a sucker, a butterfly on the dash;
A chain, a lighter, a two-headed bear, an ERL jacket that's too hot to wear.

JPG’s daisies, a Balloon Dog, and a cookie to-go;
Tiny rakes, an open palm, and a vibrator balanced just-so.

A trumpet, a pineapple, an iconic sailor’s hat;
A Chopova Lowena chain, a checkerboard, and a lost cat.

"Featured In This Image: Chopova Lowena necklace, Jean Paul Gaultier necklace, Blumarine bag, Marni bracelet and Sinead O'Dwyer bodice. "

Furry pink Blumarine, a marble, a crumpled coffee cup;
three stars, a tiger charm, a Sinead O’Dwyer corset—look up!
