After acquiring a wealth of industry experience as a designer for Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Dior, Alexandre Mattiusi’s AMI label was borne out of a desire to make clothes that better reflected his reality. This level-headed mission statement is on par with the designs that it would later foster, pairing precise tailoring with an unwavering devotion to simplicity and immediacy. Matiussi has furthermore showcased his commitment to the hyper-social connotation of the label’s moniker by using street-cast models and his own close friends as subjects.
