French heritage house Carven, founded in Paris in 1945 by Marie-Louise Carven, offered women an unconventional vision of luxury crafted from diverse textiles like African wax cloth and Indonesian batik. British designer Louise Trotter, appointed creative director of the Parisian house in 2023, reimagines the house’s codes to deliver sophisticated, practical collections. Mindful, pared-back collections favor comfort and an evolving wardrobe with muted colorways and voluminous, modern silhouettes. Menswear-inspired lines are paired with signature feminine textiles and shapes for playful designs that inspire confidence.
