Founded in 2010 by partners Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer, Cold Picnic brings together their backgrounds in art, fashion, and textile craftsmanship. Known worldwide for their famous Torso Bathmat, the duo takes a playful and counterintuitive approach to textile design, eschewing traditional carpet patterns in favor of bold, unexpected elements. Cold Picnic condenses recognizable iconography into an abstract geometric shorthand to create eye-catching and irreverent designs inspired by nature, animals, and the human body.
