Downtown Los Angeles-based label RE/DONE has reworked and redesigned vintage Levi’s jeans since emerging as a denim luxury brand in 2014. Its imminent cult-like rise has forged founders Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur as juggernauts of sustainability. Sartorial stories of worn pockets, ripped knees and faded blues, from years of wear, are retold through a curated selection of men's denim essentials. After denim pieces are taken apart at the seams, they are skillfully repurposed – using water conserving methods and no harmful chemicals – and cut into modern fits. A scarcity of dark-washed vintage denim stock, however, compelled the brand to introduce RE/DONE Originals in 2016. Crafted from brand new premium denim from the same mill that produces for Levi’s, vintage-inspired designs are rendered in a range of dark indigo and black washes. A line-up of 1950s to 90s-inspired staples, including basic supima cotton t-shirts, plush hoodies and classic leather sneakers broadens the offering. Re/Done remains driven by simplifying the action of finding the perfectly weathered jeans in a shape that is current.
