Perla Valtierra celebrates traditional Mexican craftwork with her eponymous label of sensual everyday ceramics. The studio combines centuries-old practices from Mexico with the aesthetic teachings of Japanese philosopher Yanagi Sōetsu to create a selection of artisanal objects, including vases, mugs, and candleholders. Featuring intricate ribbon detailing and delicate scalloped edges, each piece is handmade from locally sourced clay by master ceramicist and longtime collaborator Don Jesus Torres alongside a small team of artisans in Bajío, Mexico. Artful and utilitarian, Perla Valtierra delivers an homage to the past with its luxurious earthenware collections.
