Marenzi channeled his military experience into coat making and introduced castor oil as a waterproofing agent, spurring the label’s history of dedicated research into material and manufacturing innovation to the simple goal of providing functional, weather-resistant coats with timeless Italian style. With ethical and environmental responsibility as a core tenet, Herno’s production remains grounded in an eco-sustainable approach through continuous evolution. The pioneering label went on to produce top-of-the-line outerwear for fashion powerhouses, including Armani, Prada, Jil Sander, and Louis Vuitton, predating the ubiquitous of designer collaborations in the contemporary age.
