Contemporary South Korean label CARNET-ARCHIVE embraces juxtaposition with forward-thinking designs at the intersection of fine art and fashion. Designers Halyn Kim and Young Dae Kong met at the London College of Fashion before cofounding the brand, basing its name on a phrase meaning “a collection of notebooks.” Drawing upon influences as varied as architecture, sculpture, and dance, CARNET-ARCHIVE’s distinctive vision explores the lines between creation and destruction in deconstructed silhouettes, paneled mix-and-match textiles, and specialized dyeing techniques.
