GERSTLEY
It comes as little surprise that the playful, singular ceramic home goods by Sean Gerstley evolved from his practice as a sculptor. With his namesake line, the Philadelphia-based Rhode Island School of Design graduate uses slab and coil techniques to create his universe of objects oozing with an aesthetic of earthy organic meets all-out extraterrestrial. Featuring pinchy surfaces and custom glazes that burst with sumptuous color, the collection of dimpled planters, vases, candleholders, and fruit bowls go beyond pure function, serving as eccentric accents to any modish home. Marked by a cool, offbeat charm, GERSTLEY's handmade ceramic wares are at home with the crafty antiminimalist.
