F-LAGSTUF-F DOWN
Japanese counterculture label F-LAGSTUF-F defies tradition with off-kilter, borderless menswear inspired by ‘90s skate culture and music. Nobuyuki Murayama founded F-LAGSTUF-F in 2014 after travelling America as head buyer of Harajuku-based cult vintage store BerBerJin. The designer’s love of anime and Japanese streetwear is written into the brand’s DNA, along with five decades’ worth of ideas from vintage Americana. Signature graphic T-shirts (think Black Flag, Bad Brains) and hoodies are reminiscent of ‘80s hardcore punk aesthetics, while box-cut corduroy jackets and carrot-cut trousers take cues from mid-century militaria and workwear. As a study in amekaji—the fusion of American casual style and Japanese sensibilities—F-LAGSTUF-F offers distinctive high-end style with a vintage feel for the audacious wearer.
