When people think of creativity, novelty, and excitement, the city gets too much of the credit. Creation happens in the suburbs, too—it’s just more low-key. The in-between places. The awkward and messy moments in parking lots and cul-de-sacs. From learning to skateboard or drive, or simply loitering at the nearest convenience store. So much of life goes down on winding residential streets; these experiences fuel the creative process. Photographer Lindsay Ellary and stylist Rita Zebdi head to the outskirts to shoot the Vans OG Classics SS22 collection on the kids of suburban LA. Here’s to having a million miles of fun, no matter where you reside.
