Vanessa Schindler
Drawing inspiration from new intersections of tech and fashion, Swiss designer Vanessa Schindler utilizes unprecedented materials and unorthodox methods to create subtly charming jewelry. During her master’s degree in fashion and accessories at the Geneva University of Art and Design, Schindler explored decorative functionality combined with 3D finishing as a means to elevate conventional forms. Her research was nominated at the Hyères Fashion Festival in France, where she won the Première Vision Grand Prize. Schindler's jewelry is fitted without prior alteration or cutting; instead, she molds directly onto the body, generating amebic shapes, abstract patterns, and plant-life motifs. Handmade earrings and necklaces are crafted from delicately colored, urethane drops and complemented by Italian silver studs or Swarovski crystals. With a forward thinking ethos and a harmony of synthetic and organic influences at its core, Schindler’s collection provides a defiant, yet elegant, approach to the oldest accessory.
