Japanese ready-to-wear brand AURALEE is a study in material nuance. Designer Ryota Iwai’s precise awareness of silhouette has been evident in every collection since the brand’s launch in 2015. The brand’s mix of denim, neutralized formal wear, and tailored womenswear staples is easily grasped, while his passion for textile design and pursuit of production standards imbues AURALEE with a refreshing honesty. Iwai’s insistence on maintaining a close relationship with his suppliers yields unique fabrics composed of carefully-sourced wool and cotton fibers.
