Fashion industry veteran Nick Wakeman launched her ready-to-wear label Studio Nicholson in 2010. Chelsea College of Art’s Textile Design program, the London-based designer has since distinguished herself with her penchant for high-end materials and the versatility of her ‘modular’ separates. Wakeman’s clean-lined, uncomplicated garments are frequently inspired by the purity of traditional Japanese architecture and the ease of the European menswear uniform. These influences have been further distilled in the brand’s polished menswear collection, launched in 2017. Crafted in luxurious end on end cotton, refined shirting boasts immaculate tailoring and subtle details like band collars and modified hems, while rib knit merino wool lends sumptuous appeal to essential pullover styles. Sophisticated outerwear, constructed in heritage textiles and understated tones, acts as the structural linchpin of a flexible, well-balanced wardrobe.
