Ukrainian designer Masha Popova’s eponymous label delivers a couture-sportswear hybrid inspired by the designer’s childhood in post-Soviet Ukraine. Based in London, Masha Popova blends traditional garment-making with innovation for a lively take on modern fashion. Zero-waste textiles are transformed into carefully constructed and deconstructed garments, swayed by a detailed study of embroidery, denim, and printing. Boldly crafted denim, jackets, tops, and signature butterfly pieces are made using hand-dyed fabrics in a bright color palette inspired by ‘80s and ‘90s sci-fi and horror films. Motivated by imperfection, social criticism, and personal narrative, Masha Popova’s pieces add a unique flair to everyday and going out apparel.
