Neighborhood SHIRTS for Men on sale
Established in 1994 in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, Neighborhood was born out of founder Shinsuke Takizawa’s deep-rooted fascination with western subcultures. Takizawa was first exposed to American biker culture through '60s road films and soon began riding and customizing motorbikes himself—a hobby that has consistently informed his design ethos. Through Neighborhood, the designer pays tribute to Americana motorcycle culture by reinterpreting its aesthetic features in functional ready-to-wear, outdoor gear, accessories, homewares, and furniture. The Japanese label’s vintage references include military design and London punk scene paraphernalia, elements of which can be seen in supple leather biker jackets, selvedge denim jeans, and utilitarian shirts. The same retro outlook is reflected by design details of tents, fold-up sleeping cots and chairs, incense burners, ashtrays, and aprons. Each nostalgic piece is crafted with use and visual impact front of mind.Established in 1994 in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, Neighborhood was born out of founder Shinsuke Takizawa’s deep-rooted fascination with western subcultures.
