Inside SSENSE’s Steamy Salon de Refusés Paris Pop-Up

Over the weekend during Fashion week, we decided to host a special one day pop-up in Paris to showcase the work of some of our favorite designers.

SSENSE's Salon de Refusés showroom, which nods to the 1863 salon that provided a platform for artists rejected by the French government and the Academy of Fine Arts for being too provocative, is a celebration of that same spirit of refusal: that fashion is at its best when it’s bold, weird, and having a little fun.

During the day we showcased designs from the likes of RESCHA, Kanika Agarwal, LAURA ANDRASCHKO, MERRMA, Petra Fagerstrom, Seconda, and Stephen Jones. Once the sun went down we threw a little fashion week soiree, with a set from Memphy and a live performance from Smerz.

It was, to put it mildly, more than a little fun; at one point, someone threatened to call the cops. Take a look at the photos from the showroom and party below.
