Randa Kherba’s inaugural menswear label RK offers supernatural styles straight from the future. Looking to anime, sci-fi, and video games for creative stimulus, the Central Saint Martins graduate combines these influences with observations of everyday street style to create her singular designs. Kherba’s candid photos from trips to Shanghai and Tokyo serve as source material for shapes and silhouettes. The casual collection—which consists of brightly colored pullovers, hooded jackets, and baggy trousers—appears relatively simple, but closer inspection reveals its playful complexity. Kherba employs high-tech fabrics such as metal nylon, Tyvek, and thermoreactive cotton to craft dynamic yet functional garments. Waterproof staples are made to look wet, while other pieces change color when exposed to heat. With its unique use of materials and uncanny aesthetic, RK’s debut line is both familiar and out of this world.
