Colombian designer Natalia Criado founded her eponymous label in 2007 to create original tableware informed by her country’s heritage. Elegant and eclectic in equal measure, the studio’s collections merge the refinement of modern Italian design with the ancient aesthetic motifs of traditional Colombian styles. Cutlery sets from the Joyas en Casa series—literally “gems at home”—feature a mix of simple, geometric shapes and novel, detail-laden flatware patterns, while vibrant stones like jade or perla embellish the bottoms of teaspoons or form the striking handles of gold-plated cups and jugs. Embodying a flirtation between simplicity and splendor, Natalia Criado delivers artisan-crafted and made-to-order homeware with a contemporary folk poise.
