Austrian designer Helmut Lang changed the course of fashion with the founding of his namesake label in 1986. Among his influential acts and creations, the self-taught designer is credited as a principal architect behind ’90s minimalism and for being the first to codify workwear and streetwear for a luxury milieu. Lang’s legacy persists today through the work of Peter Do—creative director since 2023—who brings a personal touch to the New York–based label’s signature of androgynous, forward-looking fashion.
