SHUTING QIU

Shanghai-based Shuting Qiu, launched in 2018, offers a daring exploration of pattern, fabric, color, and texture. The eponymous label conveys a modern sense of romantic femininity through its fearless experiments in asymmetry, contrast, and delicate embroidery. Inspired by travel and art, Shuting Qiu pays homage to free-spirited female artists like Virginia Woolf while encompassing a global aesthetic. Each floral, stripe, and plaid is the personal creation of the designer, evolving from a painting or drawing into an exclusive printed fabric. Silk, jacquard, faux-fur, and velvet are blended without inhibition, with much of the material sourced from deadstock. Shuting Qiu’s sunny eclecticism evokes a world where creativity is unimpeded by rules or borders.
