Kids Love Gaite SHOES for Men
KIDS LOVE GAITE, the brainchild of Tokyo-based designer Shintaro Yamamoto, has steadily amassed a cult following since its debut in 2008. Yamamoto’s instantly recognizable footwear designs—which have also found their way onto the runways of Comme des Garçons and Doublet—balance the refined and the grotesque with admirable restraint. Chunky constructions that border on body horror sit alongside more approachable oxfords and brogues. Classic silhouettes, from cowboy boots to monk-strap loafers, are reinterpreted in premium polished leathers and given a distinct attitude through studded accents and graphic details—a nod to Yamamoto’s reverence for London’s punk scene.
