Sustainable footwear brand Le Monde Beryl was founded in 2016 by designers Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin. The London-based duo was inspired by the functionality, thriftiness, and elegance of the slippers worn by Venetian gondoliers, and sought to craft their own rendition using premium materials and ethical production methods. The resulting design became the brand’s flagship style and the foundation of an expanding footwear repertoire handcrafted in Italy using time-honored shoemaking methods. By thoughtfully stripping shoes back to their most essential elements, Le Monde Beryl captures how simple quality speaks volumes.
