Since her label’s 2017 debut, designer Amina Muaddi and her signature flared heels have skyrocketed to international acclaim, achieving cult-like status with the zeitgeist’s crop of insta-models and it-girls. Before launching her eponymous brand, the half-Romanian, half-Jordanian designer had built a reputation as a stylist, working for esteemed publications including Vogue and GQ. Obsessed with footwear since childhood, Muaddi decided to change career paths and pursue her passion; she spent a year in Riviera del Brenta learning the craft of Italian shoemaking before settling in Paris. Combining artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary femininity, Muaddi’s label fuses glamour with comfort—despite their height, each pair of Muaddi heels can be worn from dusk ‘til dawn. The designer’s enchanting mainstays consists of 70s-inspired platforms, slip-on sandals, and pointed-toe sling-back heels. Croc-embossed leathers, satins, glittered PVC, and pony hair feature prominently throughout the offering and come shrouded in eclectic colors and rhinestone embellishments. Conceptualized in Paris and made in Italy, Muaddi has expanded the vocabulary for contemporary women’s footwear, offering of-the-moment designs that are as elegant as they are playful.
