Merging the worlds of art and fashion, New York City-based Maiden Name brings a multidisciplinary approach to vintage-inspired womenswear. Alix Freireich and David Lê founded the creative house in 2019 as a conceptual e-commerce site, pairing their in-house designs with curated artisanal objects. Ready-to-wear and homeware collections are thematically linked through material exploration. Designs use knits, velvet, poplin, and patchwork details to play with texture. Seventies-inspired color palettes, V-neck spread collars, and flared hems are given a contemporary twist with clean-cut silhouettes. Cheeky cut-outs and self-tie fastenings modernize dresses, button-up shirts, and blouses. Ever versatile and wearable, smart trousers and sleek miniskirts easily transition from nine-to-five to a night out.
