BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE
Japanese designer Issey Miyake established himself in the 1970s as the pioneer of fashion technology, a design hallmark carried into his accessories line BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE. Launched in 2010, the line offers various iterations of the innovative BAO BAO design—first created for the Bilbao bag in the early 2000s—which is instantly recognizable by its geometric arrangements of polyvinyl triangles. Futuristic-looking pieces such as totes, wallets, and pouches change shape as contents are placed within them, creating newly structured silhouettes.
