Proenza Schouler is a New York based modern luxury women's wear and accessories label, founded in 2002 by designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Both graduates of Parson's School of Design, the pair co-designed a senior thesis collection that was so successful Barneys New York bought the entire line. Thus, Proenza Schouler was born. A combination of the pair's mother's maiden names, Proenza Schouler is a favorite amongst chic downtown girls due to its intricately constructed minimalist silhouettes, muted colours, artful layering, impeccable tailoring and subtle sexuality. Fans include nonchalantly cool girls Kirsten Dunst, Chloe Sevigny and Maggie Gyllenhaal - as well as the CFDA, who awarded the pair with honors in 2007, 2011, and 2013.
