Acclaimed London-based womenswear designer Richard Quinn’s eponymous label is a dazzling ode to British heritage that pushes opulently tailored silhouettes into daring statement pieces. With a Stella McCartney Foundation-subsidized MA from Central Saint Martins and internships at Dior and Richard James on Saville Row, where he honed the art of crafting beautiful womenswear couture, Quinn was poised to launch his own label in 2016. Winning the British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent in Womenswear and the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for Best British Design in the label's first two years propelled Quinn’s cult eveningwear into the international spotlight. Constantly experimenting inside his studio, virtuosic craftsmanship and meticulous printwork catapult dresses and two-piece ensembles to the razor’s edge of high fashion, weaving together bold and emotive lines. A modernized elegance is countervailed by prismatic floral patterns that are subversively imbedded in Britain’s history. Sophisticated architectural-like shapes, in particular, printed jackets and fitted dresses, are reinvigorated nods to royal family bravura and 1950’s mod aesthetics, while slim trousers and turtlenecks echo London’s dazzling 1980’s club scene.
