Radical conceptual designer Martin Margiela founded his namesake couture house in 1988 and quickly established himself at the forefront of the Belgian fashion avant-garde. The design team that currently heads the Maison has maintained the tradition of anonymity its founder established in his career-long refusal to grant interview or public appearances. In the Heritage collection, they turn the label’s founding principles of transform and deconstruction to the conventions of fine jewelry. Unisex reinterpretations of engagement and wedding rings, family crests, and heirloom pieces in diamonds, sapphires, gold, and silver approach traditional jewelry from a modern angle. Transformed, they celebrate unconventional stories, new narratives, and mystery.
