Hailing from Rome, jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez Fendi founded her namesake company in 2007. Today, Delettrez is the youngest designer featured in the permanent collection of fine jewelry at the Louvre’s Musée des Arts Decoratifs. Her creations employ pavé diamonds, precious stones in phantom settings, and precious metals recontextualized with a surrealist feel: they appear in the shape of an eye or a pair of red lips, set in the twist of a ring band or the cusp of a hook earring. Delettrez designs with kinetic sensibility, marrying classical goldsmithing techniques with contemporary materials to create a trompe-l’oeil effect where fine jewels appear to float around the body.
