Women’s accessories label Cherevichkiotvichki, a playful Slavic translation of “a shoe by Victoria,” was launched by Lithuanian-born Victoria Andrejeva in 2011. The self-taught designer splits her time between ateliers in London and Italy, involving herself in all aspects of the label’s meticulous creative process—from traditional shoemaking techniques to in-store art installations. Drawing upon memories of her austere childhood in the USSR, Andrejeva’s designs are as romantic as they are modern and utilitarian. Her signature handcrafted leather derbys and lace-up ankle boots, inspired by the durability and functionality of Soviet-era footwear, showcase Andrejeva’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. For her Fall 16 collection “Present Past,” Andrejeva explores the metaphysical relationship between time and space.
