Hot Mess

Hot Mess was born out of a Twitter exchange between New York-born model and influencer, Luka Sabbat, and Colorado-born photographer, Noah Dillion. The two came together in 2017 to create a multimedia art project loosely based around the concept of contemporary youth culture. Since then Hot Mess has expanded into an ‘anti-fashion’ menswear label, or what the two collaborators describe as a ‘merch’ collection. Disillusioned by mainstream trends and the over-saturated fashion market, Sabbat and Dillion were determined to create a project that would push fashion forwards by disrupting it from within. Disregarding popular culture all together, the two collaborators find inspiration in the environments and communities they actively help forge. With spontaneity, debauchery, and experimentation being guiding principles of the Hot Mess ethos, the collection pulsates with a raw and vital energy. Jersey t-shirts, poplin button-ups, and fleece hoodies are emblazoned with subversive graphics and subtle anti-establishment messages. By engaging with contemporary culture through a critical lens, Hot Mess provides a platform for the sincere, authentic, and refreshing to unfold.
