Buenos Aires-based, Argentinian designer Martiniano Lopez Crozet debuted his namesake line in 2011, quickly soaring in popularity worldwide thanks, in part, to his aptly-named glove shoe. Time-honored artisanal techniques and quality leathers, with an emphasis on fine Italian kidskin handcrafted in Buenos Aires, comprise each shoe from heel to toe. Martiniano’s flexible, slipper-like designs inspired by the supple elegance of dancers’ shoes, well-heeled pumps and flats alike. Originally conceived of for men—Martiniano himself is member of a performance art duo, Los Super Elegantes—Martiniano has been embraced by discerning urban women who value functionality as much as fashion.
