Launching her eponymous New York-based label in 2016 with sister Francesca, Canadian designer Marina Moscone’s womenswear celebrates her Italian heritage, accentuating sartorial elegance and sophisticated craftsmanship. Growing up in Vancouver surrounded by an abundance of art and culture inspired Moscone to develop an early passion for fashion and sketching. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York and working in various roles across the fashion industry, including Design Director at Peter Som, Moscone started her own luxury womenswear label. Using only premium custom Italian textiles, she wields her exemplary knowledge of layering, twisting, and draping to construct garments that appeal to women who desire glamour with an unconventional twist. Silk dresses with raw edges and twisted constructions fall tt the ankle, while refined graphic patterns adorn feather-light pleated skirts and tunic dresses that are finished with asymmetric hems. The subtle pull between masculinity and femininity that exists across Marina Moscone collections is nowhere more evident than in comfortable, slightly cropped trousers. Whether colored in soft, sundrenched hues or expertly tailored to underscore the femininity decades past, each romantic modern-day garment is treated as if it is a chef-d’oeuvre.
