Brooklyn native, Randi Mates, is the designer behind the geometric, alchemical jewelry line, Aesa. Fascinated with the natural world, Mates uses 14 and 18K gold, sterling silver, bronze, pyrite, quartz and rough diamonds to create jewels that explore the boundaries between what is mysterious and what is known. The result: earrings and necklaces wrought in silver and gold, reminiscient of rock and nugget-like forms. Pieces encrusted with hidden diamonds, woven with silk in a soft palette of watercolor-like shades, move beyond trends, much like the timelessness of the materials themselves.
