5. Come on people, if you dont know what real art is then you have no right being on this site!!! and Bill if you think this is even remotely pornographic then it says a lot about you. what happened it moved? I find it really artsy and fun. Another nice job from SSense, keep it up

Posted by Trump on January 5th, 2010 at 17:53pm

6. No trump this is not art what so ever, this is a disturbing add. Looks more like a beastiality promo than a promo for clothes.

11. This is the worst lookbook I have ever seen. These pictures are disburbing and sexist. Take care of your customers, this is not a good way to sell luxury clothing.

12. I THINK this is the best lookbook ive seen. a lot of sexual energy!!! RAWR

13. LOVE IT! AGREE WITH TRUMP, IT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY. IT'S ART, JUST APPRECIATE IT.

14. 小狼狗的故事?

Posted by Raws on January 7th, 2010 at 00:00am

15. OK, i think the problem most people have with these pictures is that they are not black and white. As soon as pictures are b&W they automatically become art in peoples' minds, and become acceptable no matter how provocative. I can understand why these are in color; its to market the clothes, therefore the links. Secondly for the simple or corrupt minded i will explain how these series of pictures actually tell a story, a beautiful story which every one can relate to. a story of boy meets girl. Pic 1 woman is clearly trying to attract a mate, which is clear by her accentuating her beautiful body with sexy clothing. The dog represents the inner beast in every man which is brought forth. You can see them in a lustful embrace, the start of every relationship. pic2 He longs for her yet she plays hard to get. but eventually he is clearly successful as we can see in the 3rd pic. She as total control of him. He is not a beast any longer, but rather HER BITCH! PIc4 as the months drag on he looses interest, so she tries to lure him back. pIc 5 they get back together but he's just there for the sex. PIc 6 she uses all her femenin tricks to remind him of what he once saw in her and owns him once again. pic 7 Now the roles are reversed and he longs for her once more! Pic 8 a beautiful ending to our story. A passionate kiss, not lustful as in the begining off our story , but full of love , as in couple that know now that they belong together. I think he just proposed and she accepted. A beautiful story told with jsut 8 pictures! I can go in depth but i think people can come to their own conclusions and derive their own stories. This is what its about ppl the story behind the initial images! come on.

16. We all know that photography is art, but the theme is not granted to appeal to everyone, yes it is art, but it sucks and disturbing, the art director unless trying to be provocative can do a better job, the only success for the photo-shoot is the list of these comments, also what you refer to as HE is another species, and the story between He and She is a beastiality influenced porn promo, and thanks for the black and white advice, really made the day

Posted by Shocks on January 7th, 2010 at 04:39am

17. @Trump Nice job reading into this. "a beautiful story which every one can relate to. a story of boy meets girl. Pic 1 woman is clearly trying to attract a mate, which is clear by her accentuating her beautiful body with sexy clothing. The dog represents the inner beast in every man which is brought forth." Hmmmmm.... Come on now. ;) Your idea could've been represented differently if that's indeed what the photographer intended.

Posted by Giulia on January 7th, 2010 at 06:49am

18. @ Giulia If i wanted to write a graduate thesis i would have. I was simply trying to express the fact that people need to be more open minded and see the depth in things. I typed it out in 5 minutes. I would love to know what you see behind these images.

19. tl;dr

Posted by Johnny on January 7th, 2010 at 11:37am

20. the function of art is to inspire and provoke, which this obviously does. it's meant to create a dialogue about the limits and boundaries of our ideals and i think we can all agree this shoot absolutely nails it - regardless of the feelings it evokes in you. in any case, the colors and the photos are beautiful, in my opinion.

Posted by ashley on January 7th, 2010 at 11:51am

21. well, it definitely makes you think and wonder. They are great pics and it all really depends on who ever is looking at them and what they think. You can't appeal to everyone, no matter how hard you try. Lots of opinions and mine is they are good pics. The girls hot (love the nipple ;). See what you want to see.

Posted by Me on January 7th, 2010 at 13:47pm

22. The concept is laughable. Whoever thought this up must be from the low end of the gene pool. A pretty woman and high-end equipment seem to confuse some people into thinking these are good pics.

24. SO, IS YOUR NEXT "ARTISTIC" DIRECTION ELISABETH AND JOSEF FRITZL?

Posted by a on January 8th, 2010 at 16:09pm

25. Just because it isn't conventional doesn't mean that it is art. Also, because it is shocking too, that doesn't qualify it as art. Respect the discipline and don't just throw the term "art" around because you lack the vocabulary to articulate your opinions on something you don't fully understand. You can still appreciate difference without throwing the art label on it. It takes a lot for work to become "art". Go to galleries and museums and educate yourselves. And because "you" think it is art, doesn't mean it is. If any of your opinions on what art is and isn't actually mattered, I'm sure the Tate, MoMA, Pompidou, etc. would have been calling you. I do enjoy the photos, kinda hot.

Posted by Leb Bot on January 8th, 2010 at 16:14pm

26. FINNALLY! someone hit up the pathos appeal outside of the god damn hetero homo lines. Sure there's a bunch of long skirts who think people only have S n' M fetishes but why ya'll are still trying to decide if this is art or not...I'm rubbin n' lovin' it! This is hot!

Posted by Mizz Nipples on January 8th, 2010 at 17:21pm

27. Stuff like this makes me think they are trying too hard. In a society where beautiful things don't get the kind of recognition it deserves people often resort to this disgusting excuse for "art". Not impressed, very lame. Borderline fido ad/amateur photography trying too hard/porn.

Posted by JUSTIN WONG on January 8th, 2010 at 23:22pm

28. I shop here all the time, and I LOVE THIS ABOUT THE SITE, keep it up! It is a bit risque, but only if you look at the picture for face value and too literally.

32. Oops, I must be at a wrong place... Somehow I ended up in here while looking for an online Miss Sixty store. Well, I'm not a prude but I would agree with majority of the posters here - this MIGHT be art but it is pretty disturbing. I realize people have a lot of different sexual appetites and / or fantasies, some like opposite sex, some like same, and some like, uhm, different species altogether - I am not here to judge that but HOW THE BLOODY HELL is this related to my Google search for Miss Sixty online store?!? I think I am going to look for another brand...

Posted by Elissa of Spandexpony on January 13th, 2010 at 11:53am

45. 'Come on people, if you dont know what real art is then you have no right being on this site!!! ' That's such a hilarious comment. Having a model put a finger to her mouth (the 'Who, me?' gesture), grab her crotch or stoop over as if she's going to the bathroom is hardly original. Nice lighting, shitty make-up, ugly clothes. And oh look, her nipple's showing. How utterly original. I don;t even need to go into the dog thing.

Posted by J on January 14th, 2010 at 00:03am

49. I love how indifferent the dog looks. The model is trying so hard and the dog is so blasé. I feel like this shoot epitomizes the idiocy of edginess for edginess's sake so prevalent in fashion. It's got everything, the ersatz incisive social commentary, the exploitation and degradation of the involved parties, the unimaginative composition and above all, the total lack of any creative merit. This shoot is a blatant, albeit toned down rip off of a Deutsch (a German magazine) editorial that ran in 2008. Theirs has a bit of artistic value, not much, but some if only for the sheer discomfort and thought it induces. http://copyranter.blogspot.com/2008/02/deutsch-apparently-not-bestiality.html

Posted by jk on January 14th, 2010 at 00:44am

51. These photos are obviously suggestive of sexual interaction with an animal. This is offensive, a dog should not be treated this way. I fail to see how this is related to fashion. Shock value does not make art. Ssence - you have lost a customer.

Posted by bobby on January 18th, 2010 at 22:57pm

66. This is absolutely disgusting. That skinny twink model is screwing a dog. Pic 2 the dog is on the muff, pic 3 she's thinking about it pic 4 it's done. You showed everything but the dog doin' this little tramp. This is not art, nor fashion, it is shock to get noticed. All these NYC fag faux fashion shops push the envelope to get noticed and show all the other little fag shoppes jsut how kwel they are. If this is your life, your life is useless. I would not spend one cent in some shock fag store challenging my sensibilities by trying to tell me sex with a dog is OK. Although I wouldn't mind having her over to my house, before the dog of course. Then I could kick her bony ass out on the street & let her hang with her dog friends. Looks like that's where she wants to be anyway. There are probably 10 more oictures on the roll that would put this whole bunch of fags in jail for sex with animals. ssense you suck or do you just lap????

Posted by anony my ass on January 19th, 2010 at 19:06pm

70. Dear Anony my ass You can just bite me anytime you want. So the noble savage likes cock not animals HMMMMM... lets think about this, Oh, Yeah, remember patient #1, the flaming airline fag from Canada who flew to Africa on the company nickel, had sex with a monkey or one of his fag friends who had just had sex with a monkey and brought back the gift of the 20th century...HIV... So fuck you asswipe gays will do anything that moves. Oh wait, lets think that one through. Don't get all emotional on me, these pictures are wrong. & if you think you're the man to put one up my ass I'll give you my address, just come alone, late & don't tell anybody else. That way I won't have to answer any questions about where you are, we'll just see your picture on a milk carton. All else aside, we agree that this series of pictures shouldn't have been done & that's OK.

I can't support exploiting bulimic models and animals for money or "art' which this is not. I'll just go back to where I was, which isn't here & leave you to your own devices. And good luck to teh people who feel it necesary to do this type of thing for a living. Pogo

Posted by Javier on January 21st, 2010 at 06:57am

75. The problem with this shoot is the art direction. Great hair and makeup, but a bare studio gives no context to the images. It just looks like the photographer's dog walked on set and the poor thing was roped into shooting. I mean come on, look at the dog's collar - should have at least been studded! It's not even the right breed for this kind of thing, they should have used a fierce-looking doberman or something. Newton must be spinning in his grave at this poor homage to his photography.... Leda & St Jacques yes, Leda and Swan FAIL

Posted by WTF on January 21st, 2010 at 15:48pm

80. uh...who's to say whether its art or not. Sure it's suggestive but whatever, it's just an ad. I don't think anybody really has the right to say that it's not art...it is a form of expression..if you don't like it..then don't shop the site...pretty simple.

Posted by stacy on January 24th, 2010 at 20:28pm

81. well. when it come to catalogue for fashion, story is important but shouldnt be disturbing what ppl want to see. in this case, to me, wat ppl want to see is fashion and the interaction between models and theme however, this picture is fully focused on DOG and their seductive behavior which does not go well with fashion. i cant even read what you wannt to show me.

Posted by Erica Sohu on January 24th, 2010 at 22:25pm

82. THIS IS NOT ART. IT'S JUST SOME MISOGYNISTIC WANKER WHO IS TRYING DESPERATELY TO BE "EDGY" AND GET ATTENTION BECAUSE THEY ARE UNORIGINAL AND LAME. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY HAVEN'T TAKEN THE PICTURES OFF WITH ALL THESE COMPLAINTS. SSENSE OBVIOUSLY HAS A LOUSY PR/MARKETING TEAM. OR DO THEY THINK TURNING PEOPLE OFF FROM SHOPPING ON THEIR SITE IS THE GOAL HERE? NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN. VILE.

Posted by suck my penis on January 29th, 2010 at 01:01am

84. Wow. Everyone needs to relax, I'm surprised this caused such an uproar. If you are on this website to begin with, you'd assume it's to buy clothing. And whether or not the creators choose to display a dog with a model in their feature editorial shouldn't make a difference. The buyers are fantastic, and the products they sell are well made and extremely stylish. The variety is great, the selection is constantly refreshed, and the sales are very generous. To say that something so minor would stop you from shopping at this website is so outrageous. I'm sure ssense doesn't mind anyways, there are plenty of shoppers with taste and money that will keep returning to this website. As well as the maturity. This is one of hundreds of editorials that involves either minor sexuality/nudity or major sexuality/nudity.If anyone read a fashion magazine besides US Vogue or Elle, you might not be so surprised. Great clothes, great prices and fast service. I see no reason to not return to this site.

89. Well for good or bad, whatever your take it is art. We can know this because it invokes emotions, many of them quite visceral from the tone of the posts. Yet nothing actually happens in the pics. So in as much that real art is supposed to move you emotionally, regardless of the kind of emotion, and to make you think; then yes the book is successful as a piece of art.

Posted by Marlon on April 27th, 2010 at 10:18am

93. despite the negative responses I think you've stumbled on to something big. maybe even a gold mine. I think you should make a whole magazine of this and even try and get big name models like Daisy Fuentes, Elle Mcphiersen, Selma Hayek, Cindy Crawford or some of the new younger supermodels to pose this way. Show the dog licking the bottom of the models barefeet along with the other poses you've done like the inner thigh one and maybe the palms of her hands. the face shot was excellent. The sexual connotations are just that and nothing more. It should be looked at as a beautiful girl having fun with her pet dog and the breed should be a Great Dane or Golden Lab or some none aggressive breed. If you decided to devote a whole magazine of this I would definately buy it. If there is currently one I would like to be notified of how and were I could get a copy. thanks

94. I hired an employee in mid 2007 without consulting my best friend Stephen while he was on business to another country. Few months later I realized hiring that guy was a mistake as he had made lot of trouble for me and my best friend Stephen. We tried to convince him to leave the company so we could move on but he never took the message. We then created an atmosphere that he could feel that he does not fit in so for him to force out of the situation. That worked for him to leave my group, but not the company, so that employee stayed in another group. We still did not like him as he did not fit to our department. After few days later, we feed inaccurate information to the management and force him out of the department tangling him on false charges. Management was careful when they were kicking him out. I cannot believe that this strategy to get rid of the guy that I mistakenly hired was really worked. Roberta J. Santos
