After working together to collaboratively produce for MCs and vocalists, Chicago-natives Brandon Boom and Clique Talk's Jeremiah Chrome partnered up as The-Drum in 2010. After refining their sound and direction for several months, the duo began showcasing their work on Soundcloud, garnering support from Portland label Audraglint Records and attention from Chicago's elite, including Supreme Cuts and Sich Mang.
Chrome and Boom are also founding members of R&B supergroup JODY, which features production from The-Drum alongside vocals from David Robertson, Khallee Standberry-Lois, James King and Jeremiah Meece. Together as JODY, the team's debut collaborative track, Echos, dropped earlier this year, a precursor to their forthcoming full-length. The-Drum's debut EP Heavy Liquid released on vinyl under Audraglint in 2012, followed by their latest EP Sense Net, a six-track release that features remixes from Supreme Cuts and Neuport. Their first full-length, Contact, is set for release under Audraglint in June. Ever mysterious, The-Drum preferred to keep their tracklisting under wraps.
