Sleep Over

Taking cues from elements of her own experimental productions, Austin-based artist Sleep∞Over presents an eccentric, avant-garde mix of vintage synth-pop, minimal electronica and funk-infused house for her exclusive SSENSE mix. Expect buzzing, static-filled electronica from DIA BAS, and James Ferraro’s post-post R&B release Flamboyant, alongside quirky 80s Japanese synth-based artists Chieme Manabe, Haruomi Hosono, Cosmos and Tamao Kioke.

Sleep∞Over first garnered attention in 2010, with the release of her first EP on cassette, quickly establishing a hazy, lo-fi sound. Since then, Stefanie Franciotti has continued to produce her own unique blend of dream-pop meets lo-fi experimental with releases like her 2011 7”Forever, under L.A.-based independent label, Hippos in Tanks, also the home of SSENSE collaborators Physical Therapy, Nguzunguzu, and Triad God. Sleep∞Over’s new single is set to drop soon, followed by an LP slated for release later this year.
