Notoriously mysterious, and as-yet anonymous, little is known about the elusive man behind the Druid Cloak moniker. His first interactions with music were rooted in a passionate love of hip-hop, but eventually grew to encompass everything from metal to drum 'n bass to house and big beat. His musical mantra is simply to "make what the earth tells me," hinting at the mystical nature of his identity as Druid Cloak, while simultaneously nodding to his love of fantasy and sci-fi. Druid Cloaks fluid future-garage beats and bass-driven soundscapes garnered interest when he debuted on Kastle's label Symbols Recordings, with The Grove, a four-track EP infused with his signature otherworldly sound.
Druid Cloak's exclusive mix for SSENSE is a more vigorous take on his usual sound, opening with his own upbeat production, Blue Flame. Tracks from Cashmere Cat, Branchez, Skream, and Kastle are offered alongside remixes from Woz, Kon, JMSM, and Druid Cloak himself.
